I Am Soil is part of Cultivating Connections, a creative, community-driven project bringing together farming, art, and young people to reconnect us with the living soil beneath our feet. I Am Soil is the global platform at the heart of this project ā an open invitation to people everywhere to share what soil means to them through creative expression.
Supported by the SoilTribes initiative and funded by the European Union, the project forms part of the wider mission āA Soil Deal for Europeā, an ambitious effort to restore soil health, strengthen biodiversity, and inspire people across Europe and the World to care for the ground that sustains us.
Led by Zerodig Farms in the UK, in partnership with Stroud Valleys Artspace and Curriculum for Life, the project combines regenerative agriculture, artistic practice, and global youth engagement. From hands-on training at the Zerodig Training Farm, to creative exhibitions and international storytelling, Cultivating Connections transforms soil from something we overlook into something we understand, value, and protect.
At its heart, this project is about one simple idea:
when people reconnect with soil, they begin to care for it.
